VicForests Community Support Program

The forestry industry plays a key role in building and supporting rural and regional communities through its business activities and by sponsoring local community events and activities.

VicForests assists organisations that contribute to the wellbeing of local communities by providing grants of up to $2000 to charity groups, sporting groups, educational and community groups located across Central and East Gippsland.  Examples of the type of initiatives VicForests supports include local community festivals, the re-establishment of gardens affected by the Black Saturday bushfires and outside broadcast equipment for a community radio station.

The Community Support Program has provided more than $350,000 in grants and funding to over 200 community groups or organisations as well as key partnerships with local organisations, groups and clubs to provide longer-term support through VicForests Community Partnerships.

VicForests Community Support Program 2018

In 2018, VicForests announced 34 community groups or organisations would receive funding under the Community Support Support including 18 community projects across Central and East Victoria and the renewal of 16 Community Partnerships providing longer-term support for vital community events and services.

VicForests' Community Support Program continues to support local communities across regional and rural Victoria providing funding for a range of projects and services.
